Arduino Lights

By , September 28, 2011 1:52 pm

Last meeting was a good night for programming. We had one new member stop by, and we gave a hands on Arduino demo. Using the parts around the office, we were able to build a light sensor and meter. The light sensor turned a light on and off depending the on the brightness of the light. We had another Arduino that was able to light up a different number of LEDs depending on the level of light or darkness. To top of the night, someone gave us a half of gallon of melted ice cream and spoons!

As Enlight gets ready for our kickoff meeting this Tuesday, we wanted to be able to preview what is under the fountain. Right now, there are chalk drawings above the fountain underground showing what goes on bellow people’s feet. We hope that the drawings increase interest in our organization and get more people to check us out this Tuesday. If you are near Engineering Hall, go check it out.

We hope to see you this Tuesday, September 13th at 6pm in 1099 ECB!

Enlight Kickoff Meeting 2011

By , September 11, 2011 9:50 pm

As the fall 2011 school year enters, Enlight gets ready for its annual kickoff meeting. We are looking forward to greeting new members and teaching them all we can about the fountain. For our kickoff, we are planning a hands-on-tour of the fountain. Everyone at the tour will get the chance to help maintain the fountain. These tasks are fun and go quickly with a large group. We will be rewarding our hard workers with pizza at the end of the “tour”.

Stop by if you can. Our meeting starts on Tuesday, September 13 in 1099 ECB at 6:00pm. Hope to see you there!
